GENERAL INFORMATION

SPECIALIZATION:

Thе Armenian Association of Molecular and Cellular Biology and Immunology (ArmA MCBI) is a legally registered academic, non-governmental, non-political, non-for-profit and self-governed national legal entity (NGO) based on voluntary membership of scientists performing research in molecular and cellular biology and immunology and close fields.

A group of scientists from the Institute of Molecular Biology founded ArmA MCBI in 2011. The Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia authorized ArmA MCBI activities in January 2011 (Registration Certificate # 03Ա176020).

From 2012 ArmA MCBI became a regular member of the International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS).


MISSION:

To encourage development of multidisciplinary research in molecular and cellular biology and immunology in Armenia.


TASKS:

  • Elaboration and implementation of programs solving the important issues in the fields of molecular and cellular biology and immunology related to health, agriculture, ecology and HiTecs;
  • Support to activities and creative initiatives of Armenian scientists working in the fields of molecular and cellular biology and immunology;
  • Informational and advisory support to Armenian scientists working in the fields of molecular and cellular biology and immunology;
  • Elaboration and implementation of programs strengthening research infrastructure in Armenia;
  • Elaboration and implementation of programs supporting the commercialization and practical application of the innovative developments of Armenian scientists in the fields of molecular and cellular biology and immunology;
  • Support to the initiatives of scientists, scientific communities, and organizations related to the establishment of science-based industries in Armenia;
  • Facilitating the integration of Armenian scientists in the International Research Area by promoting collaboration between the Armenian and overseas scientists;
  • Strengthening of the collaboration between scientists from Armenia, Nagorni Karabakh and Diaspora;
  • Elaboration and implementation of programs supporting professional development and abilities of young scientists in Armenia;
  • Elaboration and implementation of programs strengthening professional rights of women scientists in Armenia and facilitating favorable conditions for their career development.
